Binah Welcomes SafeWork NSW On Site

Binah recently welcomed representatives from SafeWork NSW's team for a dedicated Toolbox Talk, bringing together our employees, subcontractors and site personnel for a morning of open discussion and practical safety awareness. The session provided an opportunity to hear directly from SafeWork NSW inspectors, who shared their experiences, industry observations and advice on some of the most important safety issues facing the construction sector today.

Important Conversations That Matter

Throughout the morning, SafeWork NSW representatives addressed four key areas of workplace safety:

  • Working at heights: Preventing falls through appropriate safety controls, equipment and greater awareness of potential hazards.
  • Mobile plant and machinery: Reinforcing the importance of communication, planning and physical separation to prevent serious incidents.
  • Silica dust exposure: Raising awareness of the long-term health risks associated with respirable crystalline silica and the importance of effective dust management.
  • Psychosocial safety: Recognising the impact of workplace pressures, mental health and wellbeing, and encouraging workers to speak up when support is needed.

Beyond the discussions, a consistent message was reinforced: everyone on site has a responsibility to look out for one another.

Building a Stronger Safety Culture Together

For Binah, bringing our subcontractors and employees together for conversations like these is an important part of maintaining a workplace where safety remains a collective priority.

We recognise that a strong safety culture relies on open communication, shared accountability and the willingness to speak up, ask questions and continually improve.

Our sincere thanks to the SafeWork NSW representatives for taking the time to visit our site, share their knowledge and engage directly with our people. We also thank our subcontractors and employees for their participation and continued commitment to safe working practices.
